Upstairs

This little Tudor Revival cottage isn't really so little at all. At just under 1,800 square feet, it's plenty big enough to sport not one but two master suites, both of which can be found upstairs.
Our tour of the second floor begins in the larger of the two master suites. In the bedroom, three large front-facing casement windows open to beautiful saltwater views while on the east side of the room there's a cozy reading area set into a small dormer. A walk-in closet provides ample room for storage and even has its own round window for natural illumination, as many old houses do.
In the adjoining attic space is the large exquisitely appointed master bath.
The Belle Epoque Deluxe spindle-leg sink is the charming focal point in this interesting room. Stunning in Grade A vitreous china, this lovely three-foot-long console sink highlights the old-fashioned motif while also providing plenty of functional counter space.
Next is the luxurious oversized heated whirlpool bath, tucked away in its own poetic nook, with a gleaming subway-tiled surround and an apron front of solid fir beaded board painted a crisp white.
Rounding out the fixture set are the antique styled toilet and the separate glass-enclosed corner shower. As with the sparkling whirlpool tub surround, the shower is finished in matching white subway tile while an oversized showerhead adds an extra touch of luxury.
This master bath has tons of storage space, too, with three large closets behind beautiful period-perfect hand-made flat-panel doors. On the floor, we used solid-oak hardwood flooring, for its warmth and gentleness underfoot, and overhead, antique reproduction lighting, with finishes in classic porcelain and polished nickel. And there is even one extra perk: this bath also has its own dormer window for an incredible saltwater view.
On the back of the house, the second master suite is smaller and more modest than the larger suite in front but it's still plenty nice. The bathroom for this suite also has a glass-enclosed corner shower but the surround is done in white 4x4 ceramic tile, accented in black. Here, the floor is standard 1920s-era one-inch hexagonal tile, and the lighting, as always, is antique reproduction, in ubiquitous white porcelain. The Kohler fixtures in high period style, a pedestal sink and matching toilet, round out this lovely bath.
Finally, just off the hallway connecting the two master suites is the centrally located laundry center, with plenty of room for a standard-sized washer and dryer.
