Parlor

After considerable rework, the living room of this old-house redux feels proper yet still comfortable and cozy, just like an old-fashioned parlor.

The period-style window and door trim is handcrafted in beautiful, clear-finished fir.

Solid fir doors, both at the entry and narrow closet beneath the stairs, are trimmed with antique hardware, adding richness and character to this recreated room.

Crown molding and tall baseboards in a crisp white contrast nicely with the warm, soft yellow walls while adding yet another authentic touch.

The lovely Southern-style staircase, in glowing fir and contrasting white, leading to the attic master suite above is the natural focal point of the room.

But another lovely feature of this new "old" parlor is the graceful arched passage that leads to the "Bogart" office, dining room, and kitchen beyond.
